US envoy to Libya urges Libyan forces to uproot IS from Sirte
The US envoy to Libya, Jonathan Winer, urged the Libyan forces fighting IS militants in Sirte to step up the fight so that they gain more ground and uproot the radical group from the entire city.
Winer tweeted Sunday that after the liberation of Sirte from IS radicals, the Libyan forces have to be ready to find IS pockets and remnants across the country.
He added that by doing so and by being on alert, the Libyan forces will be on the safe side and IS will never be a threat to Libya any longer.
Meanwhile, the Misurata-led forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous had advanced into more nooks inside the seaside neighbourhood of Jizah, where IS remnants are barricading and defending their self-proclaimed caliphate by sniper shots.
