Libyan forces seize the entire 600 buildings residential area in Sirte
A military sources from the military operation of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous in Sirte revealed Saturday that the Misurata-led forces seized the entire neighbourhood of 600 buildings in Sirte, killing a number of IS snipers who were barricading inside the buildings.
The sources added that the Libyan forces also suffered the death of 8 fighters, while other were injured as the forces engaged in heavy fight for the neighbourhood.
“11 women from different African countries surrendered to our forces after being held by IS militants as sex slaves and wives.” A source from Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous added.
The media office of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous added that two foreigners were also released from IS grip on Saturday. One was Turkish and the other was Egyptian.
On Friday, the Libyan forces freed five foreign captives in the 600 Buildings area. One was from Bangladesh, two from Turkey and two from India.
