Messi orchestrated Argentina’s move to Euro final by winning 4-0 over USA
USA were soundly beaten by Los Gauchos with Brad Guzan forced to take the ball out of his net four times. Argentina were flying high on the wings of inspired Lionel Messi who set up Ezequiel Lavezzi for the opener already in the third minute.
The Barcelona magician got on target himself in the 32nd minute with a superbly taken free-kick that left Guzan helpless. With this goal Messi has become Argentina’s all-time top goalscorer overtaking Gabriel Batistuta’s record of 54 goals.
The Americans could’ve counted themselves lucky to be only two goals down at half-time, but that quickly changed after restart, Gonzalo Higuain making it 3-0 in the 50th minute. Napoli striker added another in the 86th for the final 4-0 scoreline with Messi once again on the providing end.
