Tripoli-based CBL receives LYD50 million from parallel Bayda-based CBL
The Tripoli-based Central Bank of Libya received Monday 50 million Libyan dinars from the new Russia-printed banknotes (LYD50) by the parallel Bayda-based counterpart.
The money shipment arrived at the Mitiga airport in Tripoli and was distributed by the CBL to Tripoli banks on Tuesday morning.
It is worth mentioning that the banknotes arrived in the eastern region last week and then were distributed to the banks in there amid calls from the Tripoli-based CBL that the money will be rendered as counterfeit.
