Al-Serraj continues his formal visits, lands in Qatar
The Head of the Presidential Council of the UN-backed Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Serraj, arrived Wednesday in Oatar and met with the Prince, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
They both discussed the mutual relations between the two countries as well as the ways to support the ongoing peaceful transition in Libya by the Qatari government.
Al Thani expressed willingness to support Libya’s GNa in economic and security fields according to the requests of the GNA and the Presidential Council.
Al-Serraj informed the Qatari Prince of the latest about the war that the GNA’s operations room and military operation Albunyan Almarsous are waging against ISIS militants in Sirte and its suburbs.
“Libya is in need to see the ban on arms lifted by the UN so that it can eradicate the terrorist groups of ISIS, let alone the need to release all the Libyan frozen assets so that the Libyan economy thrives and the Libyan people lead decent lives.” Al-Serraj explained to Al Thani.
