Al-Kouni: Libya’s cultural and archeological fortunes must be protected
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council of the UN-backed GNA, Mousa Al-Kouni, said Tuesday that all Libyan must be unified to protect their cultural heritage in Libya.
Al-Kouni added, in his speech at the Libyan Museum celebrating International Museums Day, that the division in Libya led to neglecting and sabotaging some of the Libyan archeological and cultural sites.
“All Libyans should work with the GNA to help maintain and protect the archeological ruins and antiques from theft or vandalism, all museums must receive systematic maintenance and checks.” Al-Kouni indicated.
