Libya and IAS Italy sign MoU to deepen co-operation and support food security
The Libyan ministries of agriculture and local government, on Sunday, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mediterranean Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Italy, to support spatial development projects to amplify food security for Libya in the future.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Moussa Al-Koni, Deputy PM, Ramadan Boujnah, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Puccini, Director of the Italian Institute along with both Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Agriculture and Local Government.
The attendees discussed various processes for promoting spatial development projects in the southern regions and methods to activate joint treaties, along with supporting the economic empowerment of the Libyan youth.
For his part, the Italian ambassador emphasized the necessity to enhance cooperation between both parties, pledging provision of scholarships and special training in the fields of agriculture and development for future Libyans.
