Saudi efforts to reconcile Libyan conflicting parties leading to endorsement of GNA
Saudi Arabia is putting doubled efforts on the diplomatic and security levels to hold a comprehensive reconciliation meeting in Mecca after Eid celebration that will conjoin the Libyan conflicting parties to help approve the GNA as a unity government that represents all Libyans, press sources revealed.
“Saudi government is opening contact channels with the biggest Libyan tribes in all of the country’s regions because it knows that he tribes in Libya can influence the political track in it.” The sources clarified.
According to the sources, many political parties in both Tobruk-based House of Representatives and the UN-backed Government of National Accord, in addition to the elders of the Tripoli, and east and west of Libya, welcomed the Saudi efforts and said they will concur to them.
The sources added that the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Serraj, told Saudi Arabia that he hails the efforts for holding the meeting and that he will be attending it as he appreciates the Kingdom’s role as one of the toughest in the region and the Middle East currently.
