Russia’s ambassador to Libya: Russia to ponder sending arms to GNA once UNSC decides
The Russian ambassador to Libya, Evan Molotkov, said his country is ready to consider exporting weapons to Libya’s UN-backed Government of National Accord if the UN Security Council exempted Libya from the ban on arms, whether entirely or partially.
Speaking to RIA Novosti Tuesday, Molotkov said lifting the ban on arms in Libya had been discussed by the great powers, which means Libya willsoon receive what arms it needs.
“This is a UN Security Council related issue and will be discussed thoroughly taking into account a number of criteria.” The Russian ambassador added.
