Ould Cheikh Ahmed to replace Martin Kobler as Head of UNSMIL, reports
According to local media sources in Libya, the UN is expected to appoint a new Head for the UNSMIL to replace Martin Kobler.
According to the sources, the potential new envoy to Libya is probably Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the current UN delegate to Yemen.
Earlier this year, the UN Secretary-General decided to replace Martin Kobler with the Palestinian diplomat, Salam Fayyad, but due to international rejection, the decision was held off.
