Libyan forces find 40 IS dead bodies in including children in Sirte
The deputy commander of the field operations room in Sirte, Abdel Hadi Dara, said the Misurata-led forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, which is appointed by the UN-brokered Government of National Accord, found killed children aging between 10-12 years old in the seaside Jizah neighbourhood in Sirte.
The Jizah neighbourhood is the last holdout for IS militants in the coastal city of Sirte.
“The children were tied with explosive belts around their waists as they were found furnishing the ground following the collapse of the houses where they were used as human shields by IS militants.” Dara added.
Some other IS militants were found with amputated bodies in Jizah, while others surrendered to the Libyan forces, he said.
Dara added that over the last two days, the Misurata-led forces of Al-Bunyan AL-Marsous found 40 dead bodies for IS militants inside the Jizah neighbourhood.
