Libyan forces advance deeper into last IS hideout in Sirte
The Misurata-led forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous have advanced more into the last IS spot in Sirte – the seaside Jizah neighbourhood.
The forces controlled Sunday new spots and nooks inside Jizah neighbourhood, according to media sources.
On Saturday, the Misurata Central Hospital reported two killed fighters and 22 injured ones who arrived after clashing with IS militants in Jizah.
“Only ten of the injuries remained in the hospital, the rest departed.” The spokesman of the Misurata Central Hospital told the media Saturday.
The Misurata-led forces have been fighting in Sirte to eradicate IS since last May and have now cornered the remaining IS radicals in only one neighbourhood with so little resistance remains from them.
